Naturopathic Mental Health
My clinical focus is on the evaluation and treatment of mental health struggles. This involves, but is not limited to:
1. A mental status assessment;
3. Measurement of psychological distress via the use of validated psychometric scales;
4. Diagnosis; and
5. A negotiated or collaborative treatment plan that often involves referrals or recommendations for additional mental health services/supports.
The most important goals of treatment involve the moderation of distressing symptoms, restoring or improving functionality, and finding practical strategies to improve personal resilience so that life's stresses can be managed more effectively.
My aim is to treat all patients with respect, empathy, and kindness. While I might sometimes have an off day, I do my best to make every patient experience positive.

I SUPPORT the notion that patients with mental health struggles have problems managing their lives, and with lots of hard work and dedication many of their unwanted symptoms and emotional regulation problems can markedly improve. I also support the notion that good nutrition and lifestyle, as well as the judicious use of natural medicines can significantly improve quality of life.
I prefer to work with patients that share a similar philosophy, and are willing and ready to do the difficult and rewarding work of making their lives more meaningful and productive. If you are ready, I very much look forward to working with you on your mental wellness journey.

Dr. Prousky's practicum training was in individual and group adult psychotherapy. His training was heavily focused on interpersonal psychotherapy, but also incorporated elements of humanistic, existential, cognitive-behavioral, and other forms of psychotherapy. His approach is therefore eclectic and draws from many different psychotherapeutic paradigms, but ultimately there is an overarching framework that holds the psychotherapy in a favourable, positive, and growth-oriented direction. Clients will be encouraged to strive towards personal growth, which should result in further opportunities to live better, to be healthier, to be more present-focused, and hopefully (or optimistically) to have acquired a greater abundance of resiliency to handle life’s adversities.
